The classic

Sunset on the Tagus

Cast off as the light turns gold. Sail past Praça do Comércio and the Alfama climbing up from the water, under the 25 de Abril bridge with the Cristo Rei watching from the south bank, and along Belém to the Padrão dos Descobrimentos and the Tower of Belém.

A glass of Portuguese wine, a few petiscos and the city lighting up behind you. It is the way most people fall for Lisbon.

By day

Lisbon from the river

See the city the way the navigators did: the palaces of the riverfront, the monuments of Belém, the old docks of Alcântara. Your skipper knows the stories behind every one of them, and there is time to stop, swim or simply drift.

1 or 2 hours 2 to 200 guests Morning or afternoon

Half a day

Cascais and the coast

Head out of the river mouth past the Bugio lighthouse, a round island fort standing alone in the estuary, then along the Estoril coast to Cascais.

Drop anchor in a calm bay to swim and try a stand-up paddleboard, with lunch served on deck.

A full day

Sesimbra, Arrábida and Tróia

A day heading south. Round Cabo Espichel, explore coves you can only reach by boat, and stop in Sesimbra for the best grilled fish on the coast.

Then the turquoise water under the Serra da Arrábida and the long white sandbanks of Tróia. On the Sado, bottlenose dolphins often come alongside to say hello.

Your day on the water

Tell Pedro the occasion. He will do the rest.

A date, a rough number of guests and what you are celebrating is all he needs to suggest the right boat and a clear price.
